Dans le cadre d’une consolidation de la Francophonie « Populaire », le Professeur Edmond JOUVE Président de la Francophonie Quercy-Périgord, vous invite au déjeuner débat d’information et de contacts à l’occasion de la 13ème conférence de la Francophonie « Simon Bolivar et la poésie de José Martí », à la Salle Polyvalente de Boissières le Vendredi 26 Octobre 2012 à 12H30. Cette conférence (déjeuner-débat) est ouvert à tous.
Ce déjeuner-débat s’effectue en concertation avec les partenaires de la Francophonie. Enfin, elle réitère sa disponibilité à continuer à organiser des manifestations ayant pour but la solidarité francophone.

The formation of the Miami Heat super team has been the dominant NBA storyline for the past four months as fans weighed the merits of the game’s best players joining forces to win a title. Two-time MVP LeBron James took the most criticism as even Dan Gilbert, the owner of his former team, called James selfish among other names in his infamous letter to fans.
James might be guilty of a few things in his move to Miami, but being selfish isn’t one of them. James and new teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all left money on the table this summer when they signed with the Heat thanks to the league’s salary cap. James and Bosh will make $14.5 million apiece in salary this season, while Dwyane Wade’s deal is worth $14 million. None of them are among the 20 top-paid players in the game.

The NBA’s highest-paid player is guard Kobe Bryant, who last season led the Los Angeles Lakers to its fifth title since he entered the league in 1996. This season he is the NBA’s highest-paid player for the first time in his career with a salary of $24.8 million.

Bryant inherits the title from Tracy McGrady who last season still reaped the benefits of a $63 million, three-year contract extension he signed in 2004 before injuries forced him to miss 60% of his team’s games the past two years. Kevin Garnett held bragging rights as the NBA’s top earner in the three seasons before McGrady.
Bryant signed a three-year, $83.5 million extension in April with the Lakers that will make him the highest-paid player through the 2013-14 season in which he is set to earn $30.5 million. He will be the first NBA player to make more than $30 million since Michael Jordan during the 1997-98 season. The NBA is looking to enact a salary rollback as part of its next collective bargaining agreement with the players, which would knock Bryant under $30 million if successful. Bryant and Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki are the only NBA players with no-trade clauses in their contracts.
NBA owners are bracing for a battle with players over their collective bargaining agreement, which expires after this season and a lockout is a strong possibility. Owners lament about losses that reached $380 million last year according to the NBA and want to cut salaries by $800 million or 35%. Yet it is the owners who are guilty of handing out dozens of rich contracts to players where the production does not match the pay.
The NBA’s best players are not its highest-paid. Each year there are 10 players selected to the All-NBA first and second teams. Out of those 10 players chosen last year, Kobe Bryant is the only player that is also among the game’s 10 highest-paid this season.
Take the second highest-paid player in the game: Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis. Lewis signed a $118 million, six-year deal in 2007 that pays him $20.5 million this season. Lewis scored 14 points a game last year and averaged 4.5 rebounds. ESPN’s John Hollinger devised a player efficiency rating, which had Lewis ranked 48th out of 71 power forwards last season. Lewis has no right being in the league’s financial elite. He deserves closer to the NBA average salary of $5 million which would mean a 75% pay cut.
The No.3 and No. 4 highest-paid are veterans Garnett and Tim Duncan who will earn $18.8 million and $18.7 million respectively this season. The two are among the best power forwards to ever play the game (Duncan is arguably the best) and have earned 25 All-Star nods between them. They are still productive players (Hollinger ranked Duncan fifth and Garnett 30th among all players last season in his ratings). Yet both are on the back-ends of their career and their teams play them only 30 minutes a game to keep them fresh for the playoffs.
No. 5 Michael Redd ($18.3 million) and No. 9 Yao Ming ($17.7 million) played 12 games between them last year as both were hit with injuries. No. 8 Gilbert Arenas has played in only 19% of Washington Wizards games the past three years thanks to various injuries and a half-season suspension for bringing guns into the locker room last December. Other high-priced players like No. 6 Andrei Kirilenko and No. 10 Zach Randolph have not lived up to their lofty contracts.

Le Heat tient son premier gros coup de la saison. Emmenés par Dwyane Wade (26 pts), les joueurs d’Eric Spoelstra ont écrasé le Magic à Miami (96-70). «Ils nous ont assené un uppercut et nous sommes allés au tapis », expliquait Dwight Howard la nuit dernière en conférence de presse. Un «uppercut » qui a pris la forme d’un 14-0 en ouverture de la deuxième période. A l’image de D12, muselé après le break (19 pts, tous marqués en première mi-temps), les joueurs d’Orlando ont pris l’eau alors que les débats avaient été équilibrés lors des 24 premières minutes. Incapables de rentrer le moindre panier, Rashard Lewis (2 pts, 0/9) et Quentin Richardson (2 pts, 0/5), n’ont pas été d’un grand secours (30,4% d’adresse pour le Magic)… LeBron James a terminé avec 15 points et 7 passes, tandis que Chris Bosh (11 pts, 10 rbs) et Udonis Haslem (11 pts, 11 rbs) y sont allés de leur double-double. A noter que Vince Carter (4 pts) est sorti sur blessure lors du deuxième quart-temps.
Parmi les autres faits marquants de la nuit, on retiendra que les Lakers ont offert sa 1100e victoire à Phil Jackson sur le parquet de Phoenix (106-114) grâce à Pau Gasol (21 pts, 8 rbs, 9 pds), Lamar Odom (18 pts, 17 rbs) et Kobe Bryant (25 pts). Rajon Rondo (10 pts, 10 rbs, 24 pds) a gavé Kevin Garnett (24 pts, 10 rbs) ou encore Paul Pierce (25 pts, 14 rbs) de bons ballons et Boston l’a emporté contre les Knicks (105-101) d’Amar’e Stoudemire (27 pts, 8 rbs). Rudy Gay (21 pts), O.J. Mayo (20 pts) et les Grizzlies ont surpris les Mavs (90-91) de Dirk Nowitzki (27 pts, 7 rbs). Kevin Durant a mis ses 30 points. Mais c’est Jeff Green qui a inscrit le panier de la victoire pour OKC à Detroit avec 3 secondes à jouer (104-105). Ben Gordon s’est fendu de 32 points pour les Pistons. Chris Paul a inscrit 10 de ses 18 points lors des neuf dernières minutes et New Orleans s’est imposé contre Denver (101-95). Enfin, Andre Iguodala (27 pts) n’a pas suffi pour Philadelphie, battu par Atlanta dans sa salle (101-104).
Le Frenchy de la nuit :
Petite nuit pour les Frenchies. Le meilleur d’entre eux a sans doute été Boris Diaw , battu par les Pacers avec les Bobcats (101-104, voir par ailleurs). «Babac» a terminé avec 13 points et 8 rebonds. Il a aussi perdu quatre ballons… L’ancien Sun a notamment réalisé un gros écran à la dernière seconde pour libérer Stephen Jackson, mais ce dernier a manqué la mire.

Un match lors duquel Danny Granger a particulièrement brillé, lui qui a terminé avec 33 points (6/11 à trois pts). Il sortait pour six fautes dans la dernière minute de jeu, mais Tyler Hansbrough prenait les choses en mains avec un jumper, un rebond et deux lancers-francs décisifs dans le money time. Assez pour que les Pacers l’emportent après avoir été derrière au score durant la majeure partie du temps (101-104). A noter que le "titre" de MVP de la nuit serait revenu à Rajon Rondo (10 pts, 10 rbs, 24 pds) si ce dernier n’avait pas perdu 7 ballons et manqué 8 de ses 12 tirs…

Luol Deng a marqué 40 points face aux Blazers
Les Blazers se sont inclinés pour la première fois de la saison la nuit dernière à Chicago (110-98). Un match lors duquel Luol Deng a crevé l’écran avec un nouveau record de points en carrière. Tony Parker a quant à lui mené «ses» Spurs à la victoire chez les Clippers (88-97).

Les Blazers étaient invaincus après leur trois premiers matches. Ils sont tombés sur un os la nuit dernière à Chicago (110-98). Emmenés par un Luol Deng de gala (40 pts, voir par ailleurs), les Bulls ont rapidement pris les commandes au score (32-21 à la fin du premier quart-temps) et n’ont plus lâché les rênes par la suite. LaMarcus Aldridge (33 pts, 9 rbs) a longtemps fait marcher la respiration artificielle, en vain. Brandon Roy (17 pts, 4/12) était dans un jour sans et ses coéquipiers n’avaient pas la main chaude de loin (0/14 à 3 pts). Accrocheurs et patients, les Blazers n’ont jamais été vraiment lâchés, mais un Bull se mettait à prendre feu à chaque fois qu’ils étaient sur le point de revenir au tableau d’affichage. Bouillant depuis la reprise, Derrick Rose a encore brillé (16 pts, 13 pds).
San Antonio est allé s’imposer chez les Clippers (88-97) malgré Eric Gordon (23 pts, 11 pds). Battus pour la quatrième fois en quatre matches, les Angelinos ont eu les plus grandes difficultés à freiner Tony Parker (19 pts). A noter que Tiago Splitter faisait ses grands débuts en NBA (2 pts, 2 rbs, 10 min). Tim Duncan a quant à lui scoré 16 points. Il n’est plus qu’à 23 unités du total de George Gervin et 105 de David Robinson, respectivement 32e et 31e dans l’histoire de la Ligue. Enfin, Tyreke Evans (23 pts) et les Kings ont battu Toronto à Sacramento (111-108). Andrea Bargnani (28 pts) et consorts ont dominé la première mi-temps (51-62 MT, 58% aux shoots) avant de s’écrouler en deuxième période. Sacramento est passé devant au score pour la première fois du match à six minutes du buzzer final.
Le Frenchy de la nuit :
Les jours se suivent et ne se ressemblent pas pour Tony Parker . Relégué sur le banc lors du dernier quart-temps du précédent match des Spurs, TP a retrouvé des couleurs. Avec 19 points et 9 passes décisives, il a fait le travail face à des Clippers privés de Baron Davis et Randy Foye à la mène. Sa performance a permis aux Spurs de relever la tête après leur défaite contre New Orleans (90-99) et de prolonger leur série contre les Clippers. L’autre équipe de Los Angeles reste en effet sur 17 défaites contre San Antonio.

Effacé lors des deux premiers matches des Bulls, Luol Deng était inarrêtable la nuit dernière contre Portland (110-98). Auteur de 40 points (14/19), l’international britannique a fait vivre un enfer à Nicolas Batum et Wesley Matthews, ses deux gardes du corps. Ses 40 points lui ont permis d’établir un nouveau record en carrière. Son précédent record ? Il datait du 27 mars 2007 contre… les Blazers déjà (38 pts). A noter qu’il a marqué 16 points lors du premier quart-temps, puis à nouveau 16 à l’occasion du troisième.

Ibarra será la sede de Mavort en la Liga de las Américas de baloncesto
La cuarta edición de la Liga de las Américas de baloncesto tendrá una de sus sedes en Ibarra, donde Mavort enfrentará a tres quintetos internacionales. El equipo ecuatoriano es dirigido por el argentino Juan José Pidal
Con un formato diferente en relación a la edición anterior se estará desarrollando la competencia de clubes más importante del continente, contando con 16 clubes y se jugará un total de 42 partidos.
Esta edición de la Liga de las Américas se jugará en las mismas fechas de la anterior y con la segura intervención de los países más poderosos en competencias de ligas. La primera fase dará comienzo a principios de diciembre de 2010 y el Final Four se jugará a fines de febrero de 2011.
“Estamos muy felices de poder anunciar la continuidad de este proyecto de nuestra Institución”, dijo el presidente de FIBA-Américas, Horacio Muratore, en la página web de la entidad.
Muratore añadió que “no ha sido nada fácil y entendemos que seguirá siendo un problema en el aspecto económico, pero hemos contado con el interés de los clubes y el apoyo de las Federaciones de las Ligas más importantes del Continente y por lo tanto, seguiremos apostando a ella”.
GM et SAAB essayent le moteur Hybride
General Motors and Saab working toguether on diesel hybrid?
A reporter from Sweden’s Automobil was returning a Saab 9-5 to the factory in Trollhättan when he stopped at a gas station to fill the tank. And what did he spy with his little eye? A 9-3 Sedan also pulling up to the pumps, with a trunk full of batteries. When the car started up, the reporter realized that said 9-3 was also powered by a diesel engine. This has all led to speculation that Saab has picked up its previous work on a diesel hybrid powertrain.
Three years ago, in November 2007, some scribes visiting the same factory got an engineer to admit that General Motors and Saab were working on a diesel hybrid. The engineer said that "We will get everything to work together. With the next generation of hybrid we can lower the fuel consumption up to 40 percent. This is possible with the use of more electricity." Peugeot has a diesel hybrid coming in early 2011. It will be interesting to see if Saab could get in front of that wave and reap the benefits instead of playing catch-up.

Former PM Lady Thatcher to leave hospital
Lady Thatcher was too ill to attend a Downing St reception for her 85th birthday Former prime minister Baroness Thatcher is to leave hospital on Monday, nearly two weeks after she was admitted.
Her spokesman said doctors were "very pleased" with her progress – she was admitted on 19 October after suffering from flu.
The Conservative peer fell ill a few weeks ago and was unable to attend a Downing Street reception to mark her 85th birthday.
She is said to be in good spirits but will take things slowly at home.
Lady Thatcher, who was PM from 1979 to 1990, was admitted to hospital after suffering from the flu and a condition affecting her muscles.
Her son, Sir Mark Thatcher, said a few days after she was admitted she was "chirpy" and had been talking about the spending review.
In 2005, the former PM was advised by doctors that she should not make public speeches in the wake of some minor strokes.
But she still attends some public functions, including a recent address by the Pope during his state visit to the UK.

Stocks poised to open higher

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — U.S. stocks were set to open higher Monday as investors anticipate reports on income and manufacturing and await the week’s big events – the midterm election, the Federal Reserve meeting and the October jobs data.
Dow Jones industrial average (INDU), S&P 500 (SPX) and Nasdaq (COMP) futures were all higher. Futures measure current index values against perceived future performance.
The Dow is coming off its best October since 2006, although stocks ended mixed on Friday after government estimates showed the U.S. economy grew at a sluggish 2% annual rate in the third quarter.
Stocks have been climbing since late August on expectations of additional stimulus from the Federal Reserve and bets that Tuesday’s Congressional elections will favor the Republicans.
But the tone has been more cautious recently, with stocks mostly moving sideways over the last week, as investors take a wait-and-see attitude ahead of the election and the Fed’s policy statement on Wednesday.
Chinese stocks moved higher overnight on strong manufacturing numbers, but the gains failed to spill over to other Asian stocks, with Japan’s Nikkei ending modestly lower.
While economic reports due out Monday on U.S. manufacturing and personal income are important, they will likely be overshadowed by the impending elections and Fed announcement.
"We could have a nervous couple of days here," said David Jones, chief market strategist at IG Markets. "If they [the Fed] don’t meet expectations, investors might be happy to take some money out of the market."
Economy: A report on personal income and spending was due before the opening bell, while a key manufacturing index is expected shortly after the market opens.
Economists expected the Commerce Department to report that spending by individuals rose 0.4% in September, according to a consensus estimate from Briefing.com. Personal income was expected to have risen 0.2% in the month.
The Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing index for October was expected to have eased to 54 from 54.4 in September. Any reading above 50 indicates growth in the sector.
Separately, government data was expected to show that construction spending fell 0.7% in September.
Companies: Shares of Avon (AVP, Fortune 500) were up sharply in premarket trading, rising nearly 19%. Last week, the company reported third-quarter results that missed analysts’ expectations, sending the stock tumbling.
AIG (AIG, Fortune 500) announced early Monday that it has raised nearly $37 billion by selling off one insurance subsidiary, and the initial public offering of a second, AIA Group Ltd. AIG’s stock edged up modestly in premarket trading.
Before the bell, Loews (L, Fortune 500) reported that its net income dropped in the third quarter to $36 million, compared to $468 million in 2009. That included a one-time charge of $328 million stemming from CNA Financial Corporation, a subsidiary. Excluding that charge, Loews reported earnings of 13 cents per share, topping analyst expectations. Shares were little changed.
Companies scheduled to post results this week include BP (BP), MasterCard (MA, Fortune 500), Pfizer (PFE, Fortune 500), CVS Caremark (CVS, Fortune 500) and WellPoint (WLP, Fortune 500).
World markets: European shares rose in midday trading. The CAC 40 in France, the DAX in Germany and Britain’s FTSE 100 were all up about 1.0%.
Asian markets ended mixed. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei index dropped 0.5%, while the Hang Seng in Hong Kong rose 2.4%. The Shanghai Composite ticked up 2.5%.
Currencies and commodities: The dollar fell against the euro and the British pound, but was slightly higher against the Japanese yen.
Oil futures for December delivery increased to $82.30 a barrel.
Gold for December delivery rose to $1363.80 an ounce.
Bonds: Prices on U.S. Treasuries rose Monday, pushing the yield on the benchmark 10-year note down to 2.60% from 2.61% late Friday.

L’effort de solidarité concernant les retraites doit être partagé par tous. Nicolas Sarkozy l’a bien compris et restera donc président de la République française jusqu’en 2014. C’est le scénario le plus probable alors que l’espérance de vie de nos chefs d’État ne cesse de s’allonger.
Car il sera désormais bien difficile aux syndicats de justifier de nouvelles actions. « Il ne sert plus à rien de manifester ». Éric Woerth l’a souligné, « on ne peut s’opposer à la fois à la démocratie et au bon sens ». Pourtant, il s’en trouve à gauche pour dénoncer dans cette décision courageuse du président « un déni de démocratie ». Ainsi, le populiste Jean-Luc Mélenchon, jamais en retard d’un coup d’éclat médiatique, s’est offusqué « de ce coup d’état » voyant dans cette « manœuvre un hold-up électoral ».
